ORDER:

The Director of School Education, in his letter 13th read above has stated that, in the reference 1st read above, Govt. of India has enacted RTE Act, 2009 on 27.08.2009 titled “The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education”. In accordance with the provision of SubSection (1) of section 23 of the RTE Act, National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi in its Principal Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 and amendments issued thereon has laid down minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a Teacher for Classes I to VIII including a pass in Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). Pursuant to the said guidelines, it has been decided to conduct Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) at least once a year for all persons, who aspire to become teachers for classes I to VIII in all schools (Govt. / ZP / MPP /Municipal /Recognized Private Aided and Private Un-Aided etc.,) in the State of Andhra Pradesh.

AP TET Notification 2025 Apply online ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES FOR APPEARING APTET:

The candidate at the time of applying for APTET shall be having the minimum qualifications prescribed for Paper – 1A for Classes I to V, Paper- 1B for Classes I to V (Special Education). Paper-2A for classes VI to VIII and Paper-2B for classes VI to VIII (Special Education) as given below:

5.1. Minimum Qualifications for paper-1A as per NCTE Norms (Classes I to V in Regular Schools):

The minimum required pass percentage of marks in the prescribed qualifications after 2011 for appearing APTET is as follows:

  1. Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks, in case of SC/ST/BC/PwBD candidates must acquire 45% marks and two (2) year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
  2. Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks, in case of SC/ST/BC/PwBD candidates must acquire 45% marks and four (4) year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
  3. Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks, in case of SC/ST/BC/PwBD candidates must acquire 45% marks and two (2) year Diploma in Education (Special Education)

The minimum required pass percentage of marks in the prescribed qualifications before 2011 for appearing APTET is as follows:

  1. Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks, in case of SC/ST/BC/PwBD candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40% marks and two (2) year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the Regulations 2002 notified on 13.11.2002 and NCTE (Recognition norms and procedure), 2007 notified on 10-12-2007 issued from time to time in this regard.

5.2. Minimum Qualifications for paper-1 B as per RCI Norms (Classes I to V in Special Education):

  1. Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and Two (2) year D.Ed. Special Education in any of the category of disability
  2. One (1) year Diploma in Special Education (DSE) in any of the category of disability.
  3. Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (DCBR) with six (6) months Certificate Course in Education of Children with Special Needs (CwSN).
  4. Post Graduate Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (PGDCBR) with six (6) months Certificate Course in Education of Children with Special Needs (CwSN).
  5. Diploma in Multi Rehabilitation Worker (MRW) with six (6) months Certificate Course in Education of Children with Special Needs (CwSN).
  6. Junior Diploma in Teaching the Deaf.
  7. Primary level Teacher Training Course in Visual Impairment.
  8. Diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation – Mental Retardation (DVR-MR) / Diploma in Vocational Training and Employment – Mental Retardation (DVTE-MR) with Six (6) months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs (CwSN).
  9. Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech (DHLS) with six (6) months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs (CwSN).
  10. Intermediate/ Senior Secondary passed with any RCI recognized qualification of minimum one(1) year duration and six (6) months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs (CwSN).

(Or) Any other equivalent qualification approved by RCI.

Note: (For point i to x) In case of SC/ST/BC/PwBD candidates must acquire 45% marks in the basic required qualification.

5.3. Minimum Qualifications for TET Paper- 2A as per NCTE Norms (Classes VI-VIII):

(Mathematics Teachers, Physical Science Teachers, Biological Science Teachers)/(Social Studies Teachers)

The minimum required pass percentage of marks in the prescribed qualifications after 2011 for appearing TET is as follows:

  1. At least 50% marks, in case of SC/ST/BC/PwBD candidates must acquire 45% marks in Graduation from a recognised University with Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
  2. Four (4) year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) with at least 50% marks, in case of SC/ST/BC/PwBD candidates must acquire 45% marks from a recognised University.
  3. Four (4) year integrated B.A./B.Sc. or B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed. least 50% marks, in case of SC/ST/BC/PwBD candidates must acquire 45% marks from a recognised University.
  4. Graduation with at least 50% marks, in case of SC/ST/BC/PwBD candidates must acquire 45% marks and one (1) year B.Ed (Special Education)
  5. Post-Graduation with a minimum of 55% marks, in case of SC/ST/BC/PwBD candidates must acquire 50% marks or equivalent grade and three (3) year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed.

The minimum required pass percentage of marks in the prescribed qualifications before 2011 for appearing TET is as follows:

  1. Graduation from a recognised University with at least 45% marks, in case of SC/ST/BC/ PwBD candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40% and one (1) year Bachelor of Education in accordance with the NCTE recognition norms and procedure Regulations 2002 notified on 13.11.2002 and NCTE regulations 2007 notified on 10-12-2007 issued from time to time in this regard. Provided that minimum percentage of marks in graduation shall not be applicable to those incumbents who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or equivalent course prior to the 29th July, 2011.

5.3.1. Language Teachers (Classes VI to VIII):

The minimum required pass percentage of marks in the prescribed qualifications after 2011 for appearing APTET is as follows:

  1. At least 50% marks in Graduation with Language concerned as one of the Optional Subjects (or) Bachelor of Oriental Language (or its equivalent) (or) Graduation in Literature (or) Post Graduation in Language concerned and B.Ed./Language Pandit Training Certificate with Language concerned as one of the Methodologies, in respect of Language Teachers.

Note: In case of SC/ST/BC/PwBD candidates must acquire 45% marks in the basic required qualification.

The minimum required pass percentage of marks in the prescribed qualifications before 2011 for appearing APTET is as follows:

  1. Graduation / Post Graduation from a recognised University with at least 45% marks, in case of SC/ST/BC/ PwBD candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40% and one (1) year Bachelor of Education in accordance with the NCTE recognition norms and procedure Regulations 2002 notified on 13.11.2002 and NCTE regulations 2007 notified on 10-12-2007 issued from time to time in this regard. Provided that minimum percentage of marks in graduation shall not be applicable to those incumbents who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or equivalent course prior to the 29th July, 2011.

5.4. Minimum Qualifications for APTET Paper- 2B as per RCI Norms (Classes VI-VIII in Special Schools):

  1. At least 50% marks either in Graduation (or) in Post-Graduation with B.Ed.(Special Education)
  2. B.Ed.(General) with one (1) year Diploma in Special Education.
  3. B.Ed. (General) with two (2) years Diploma in Special Education.
  4. B.Ed.(General) with Post Graduate Professional Diploma in Special Education (PGPD).
  5. B.Ed. Special Education and Post Graduate Professional Certificate in Special Education (PGPC).
  6. PG Diploma in Special Education (Mental Retardation).
  7. PG Diploma in Special Education (Multiple Disability: Physical and Neurological).
  8. PG Diploma in Special Education (Loco motor Impairment and Cerebral Palsy).
  9. Secondary level Teacher Training Course in Visual Impairment.
  10. Senior Diploma in Teaching the Deaf.
  11. BA.B.Ed. in Visual Impairment.
  12. Any other equivalent qualification approved by RCI.

Note: (Point i to xii) In case of SC/ST/BC/PwBD candidates must acquire 45% marks in the basic required qualification.

5.5. Course completion certificates:

  1. (a) Candidates must be qualified for the Paper applied and in possession of all certificates as on the last date prescribed in the notification for submission of application.(b) The candidates, those who are pursuing/studying final semester of Diploma in Elementary Education (or) D.Ed in Special Education (or) its equivalent, Bachelor of Education (or) B.Ed. in Special Education (or) its equivalent etc., are also eligible to appear for APTET examination, subject to the condition that the candidates cannot appear for Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) with this APTET certificate, unless the candidates acquire requisite qualifications.

    Note: Mere qualification in APTET shall not confer any right to appear TRT without prescribed qualifications.

  2. A Diploma/ Degree course in Teacher Education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered. However, in case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.Ed. (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.
  3. Intermediate qualification of Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) of Andhra Pradesh State (or) its equivalent as recognized by Board of Intermediate Education (BIE), Andhra Pradesh State only shall be considered. Graduation/Post Graduation of a University Recognized by UGC only shall be considered.

6. Structure and Content of APTET:

The structure and content of the APTET is as follows:

a) All questions shall be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer shall be correct. There shall be no negative marking.

b) There shall be Two Papers for the APTET. Paper-1 shall be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes I to V, Paper-2 shall be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes VI to VIII. Those candidates who have both D.El.Ed and B.Ed qualifications for Paper-1 and Paper-2 intends to be a teacher either for Classes I to V (or) for Classes VI to VIII are eligible to appear for both Papers (Paper-1 and Paper-2).

c) Paper-1 A: For Classes I to V (Regular Schools)

Number of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs): – 150

Duration of examination: 2 hours and 30 minutes

Note:-
1. The Test items on Child Development and Pedagogy (CDP) shall focus on Nature and Scope of Educational Psychology, Growth and Development of child, Theories of Personality, Individual Differences, Learning, Assessment analysis, Mental Health, Guidance and Counseling etc., relevant to the primary level. The syllabus designed for Child Development and Pedagogy is based on D.El.Ed curriculum of the State of Andhra Pradesh.

II. How to choose language–I of APTET Paper-1A & 1B: The following languages are offered under First Language in the Schools under the State Syllabus viz., Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Odiya. A candidate has to choose one of these six (6) languages under Language-I for APTET, those candidates shall have compulsorily studied that language either as medium of study or as First Language (or its equivalent) up to class X (or) as Second Language in Intermediate or concerned language as a subject at Graduation level and methodology in D.El.Ed is eligible for Paper-1A/1B in concerned medium.

III. English is compulsory language for all candidates as Language II.

IV. No candidate is allowed to opt English as optional Language as Language-I.

Note:
– A candidate who studied Class VI to X, in Telugu / English medium with Telugu as first language and D.El.Ed in Telugu / English medium with Telugu methodology is eligible for Paper-1A/1B Telugu. Hence the candidate shall choose Telugu under Language-I of APTET Paper 1A or 1B or both.
– A candidate who studied Class VI to X in Urdu/Kannada/Odiya/Tamil/English/Telugu medium with Urdu/Kannada/Odiya/Tamil as first Language and D.El.Ed in Urdu/Kannada/Odiya/Tamil/English/Telugu medium with Urdu/Kannada/Odiya/Tamil methodology is eligible for Urdu/Kannada/Odiya/Tamil medium Teacher Post. Hence candidate shall choose Urdu/Kannada/Odiya/Tamil language under Language-I of APTET Paper 1A or 1B or both, then the total question paper shall be in Urdu/Kannada/Odiya/Tamil followed by English.
– Candidate who studied Telugu/ English medium with Urdu as first language from class VI to X, and studied D.El.Ed course in Telugu/ English medium with Telugu methodology shall choose only Telugu Language under Language-I of APTET Paper 1A or 1B or both, then the total question paper shall be Telugu followed by English. This candidate is only eligible for Paper-1A/1B Telugu not for Paper-1A/1B Urdu. The same is applicable for other minor languages also.
– A candidate who studied Urdu as second Language in Intermediate and D.El.Ed with Urdu methodology is eligible for Paper-IA/IB Urdu. Hence the candidate shall choose Urdu under Language-I of APTET Paper 1A or 1B or both. Then the total question papers shall be in Urdu followed by English. The same is applicable for other minor languages also.

V. The syllabus for Language-I and Language-II prepared in order to test the Proficiency in the language, Elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities for 30 MCQs under Language- I and Language- II. 24 MCQs on content and 6 MCQs on Pedagogy of that Language.

VI. The syllabus for Mathematics & Environmental Studies is designed on the basis of topics of Classes III to VIII. The difficulty standard as well as linkages of content/topics could be up to Secondary Stage (up to Class X) for testing. The Test Items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies shall contain 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each, both on Content and Pedagogy. In Mathematics, 24 MCQs on Content and 6 MCQs on Pedagogy. Similarly, in Environmental Studies 24 MCQs on Content and 6 MCQs on Pedagogy.

VII. The detailed syllabus for all subjects shall be designed by the SCERT (State Academic Authority) and the same shall be issued along with the Notification. Candidates are informed to follow present (Academic Year 2025 – 2026) State Syllabus Textbooks of Class III to X. The candidates have to follow 2014 to 2025 editions of D.Ed / D.El.Ed Telugu Academy textbooks and 2019 editions of SCERT D.El.Ed textbooks.

Note: Syllabus from Classes III to VIII and standards linkage up to class X level. Questions shall be tested on critical thinking, creative thinking, and analytical thinking abilities of the candidates.

e) Paper-2A: For Classes VI to VIII (Regular Schools)

Duration of examination: 2 hours and 30 minutes

Note:-
i) The Test items on Child Development and Pedagogy (CDP) focus on Nature and scope of Educational Psychology, Growth and Development of child, Theories of Personality, Individual Differences, Learning, Assessment and its analysis, Mental Health, Guidance and Counseling etc., relevant to the Secondary level. The syllabus designed for Child Development and Pedagogy is based on B.Ed curriculum of the State of Andhra Pradesh.
ii) How to choose Language – I of APTET Paper- 2A and Paper-2B: The following languages are offered under First Language in Secondary Schools under the State Syllabus viz., Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Odiya and Sanskrit. Candidate has to choose one of these seven (7) languages under Language-I (Optional) of APTET Paper-2A or Paper-2B or both. Those candidates shall have compulsorily studied that Language either as medium of study or First Language (or its equivalent) up to class X (or) second language in Intermediate or concerned language as a subject at Graduation level are eligible for Paper-2A/2B in concerned medium.
iii) English is compulsory language for all candidates as Language-II.
iv) No candidate is allowed to opt English as optional Language as Language -I.
v) The syllabus for Language I & II for Paper-2A and Paper-2B shall be based on proficiency in the Language, Elements of Language, Communication and Comprehension abilities. Standard of test items are from VI to Senior Secondary Level (Intermediate) – 12th Class level.
vi) 30 MCQs for Language -I and 30 MCQs for Language- II.
vii)The syllabus for APTET of concerned Paper-2A and Paper-2B are based on topics of Classes VI to X. The difficulty level and standard of questions as well as their linkages could be up to Senior Secondary (Intermediate) Level (12th class). Candidates shall follow present (2025-26) State Syllabus Textbooks of Class VI to X. The candidates shall follow 2014 to 2025 editions of D.Ed / D.El.Ed / B.Ed Telugu Academy Text books and 2019 editions of D.El.Ed – SCERT Textbooks.

Note: Syllabus from Classes VI to X and standards linkage up to Intermediate level. Questions shall be tested on critical thinking, creative thinking, and analytical thinking abilities of the candidates.

g) Syllabus: Detailed syllabus for Paper-1A and Paper-1B, Paper-2A and Paper-2B for each subject shall be notified on official website http://cse.ap.gov.in

7. AP TET Notification 2025 Apply onlineMedium of Question Paper:

The Question Paper shall be bilingual (i.e.) English followed by the Language-I chosen by the candidates.

Note: For the candidates choosing Sanskrit in Paper 2A, Child Development and Pedagogy (CDP) is in Telugu followed by Sanskrit. Language-II in English (compulsory). Language -I and the remaining part of the question paper shall be in Sanskrit.

8. AP TET Notification 2025 Apply online Pass Criteria of APTET:

Results shall be declared as per the schedule notified. The criteria for considering pass in APTET are as follows: (Total Marks-150)

Community Pass Percentage Pass Marks
i) OC/EWS 60% and above 90 Marks and above
ii) BC 50% and above 75 Marks and above
iii) SC/ ST/ PwBD & Ex- Servicemen 40% and above 60 Marks and above

Note:
i) Differently abled (Visually, Orthopedically, Hearing Impaired and Autism) candidates with at least 40% of disability shall be considered as disabled except Hearing Impairment. Hearing Impairment means (a) Deaf means person having 70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears (b) Hard of Hearing means person having 60 DB to 70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears (GO.MS.No:36, Dept. for Woman, Children, Differently Abled & Senior citizens (Prog.ii), Dt: 23-08-2023).

Note: The Medical certificate submitted by the candidate for appearing APTET Examination under that particular category will not confer any right to the individual for accepting the same for further Recruitment Test. The onus will lie upon the candidate to produce the certificate validated by the Medical Board at the time of Recruitment.

ii) The Certificate shall contain the Name and Address of the Candidate, Registration No., Year/ Month of Award of Certificate, Marks obtained in each subject, Total Marks, Qualifying Status, Grade and Percentage of Marks.

iii) The APTET Certificate shall be issued to all the qualified candidates in due course of time.

iv) The APTET Certificate shall be valid for a period of 7 (Seven) years from the date of issue of APTET Certificate for all categories.

v) There shall be no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring an APTET Certificate. A person who has qualified APTET may also appear again for improving his/her score.

9. AP TET Notification 2025 Apply online Procedure for submission of online application:

a) The APTET Notification shall be issued by the Director of School Education, Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati in leading News Papers and also on official website http://cse.ap.gov.in and https://aptet.apcfss.in

b) The candidates shall apply online through the website https://aptet.apcfss.in as per the instructions given in the Notification.

c) The candidates shall pay the fee as prescribed in the Notification through online mode only.

d) The candidates shall upload scanned copies of their Photo, Signature and other required certificates as per the instructions given in the Notification.

e) The candidates shall download the Hall Ticket from the website https://aptet.apcfss.in as per the schedule notified.

f) The candidates shall appear for the examination at the allotted centre as per the schedule notified.

g) The candidates shall check their results on the website https://aptet.apcfss.in as per the schedule notified.

h) The candidates shall download the APTET Certificate from the website https://aptet.apcfss.in as per the schedule notified.

10. Fee for APTET:

The fee prescribed for appearing APTET (including examination fee) is as follows:

11. APTET Centres:

The APTET examination shall be conducted in all 26 districts of Andhra Pradesh. The candidates shall choose the district of their choice for appearing the examination. The candidates shall be allotted the centre in the district chosen by them. The candidates shall download the Hall Ticket from the website https://aptet.apcfss.in as per the schedule notified.

12. APTET Schedule:

The APTET shall be conducted at least once in a year. The schedule for APTET shall be notified by the Director of School Education, Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati in leading News Papers and also on official website http://cse.ap.gov.in and https://aptet.apcfss.in

13. APTET Certificate:

The APTET Certificate shall be issued to all the qualified candidates in due course of time. The APTET Certificate shall be valid for a period of 7 (Seven) years from the date of issue of APTET Certificate for all categories.
