📄 Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test  APTET-JUNE-2026 Notification

Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh | Computer Based Test (CBT)

1. Introduction & Objective

The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test APTET-JUNE-2026 will be conducted by the Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh across all districts through a Computer Based Test (CBT). The test ensures National Standards and benchmark of Teacher Quality in recruitment as per NCTE norms. Qualifying TET is an essential qualification for appointment as teacher in any school (Government & Private) referred to in class (n) section-2 of the RTE Act.

2. Applicability & Legal Framework

Online applications are invited from all aspiring teachers for Classes I to VIII in State Government, Mandal Parishad, Zilla Parishad, Municipality, AP Model Schools, AP Residential Schools, Welfare Society Schools, Private Aided and Unaided Schools under the control of Andhra Pradesh State. As per RTE Act 2009 and NCTE principal notification (23rd August 2010), minimum qualifications include a pass in Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).

3. Eligibility to Appear

Candidates possessing D.El.Ed / B.Ed or equivalent qualifications (as per Information Bulletin), including those pursuing final semester of recognized teacher education courses, may appear for APTET-JUNE-2026. Private unaided school aspirants can opt for CTET instead of APTET. Candidates wishing to improve their APTET score may also apply.

📌 Important: Candidates with both D.El.Ed & B.Ed qualifications (intending to teach Classes I to VIII) are eligible to appear for all papers: Paper-1A, Paper-1B, Paper-2A, Paper-2B as per requisite qualifications.

4. Paper Structure – CBT Mode

Paper-1A (Classes I-V general), Paper-1B (Classes I-V Special Schools), Paper-2A (Classes VI-VIII general), Paper-2B (Classes VI-VIII Special Schools). Candidates aiming for Special Schools must appear for Paper-1B or Paper-2B accordingly.

5. APTET Applicability & In-service Teachers

APTET applies to all schools under Clause (n) of Section 2 of RTE Act. Private unaided schools may consider Central TET or APTET. Non-approved teachers in Private Aided Schools shall appear for State TET only.

✅ TET for in-service Teachers: As per Hon’ble Supreme Court judgment in Civil Appeal No. 1385/2025, in-service teachers recruited prior to RTE Act with >5 years service to retire must qualify TET. Existing Secondary Grade Teachers (SGTs) and School Assistants (SAs) without TET may appear for Paper‑1A/1B and 2A/2B in their concerned subject — eligibility criteria exemption per G.O.Ms.No:36.

5.2 Language & Social Studies Candidates

Before 2017 there was a common paper for SA (Languages) and SA (Social Studies). From 2017 TET onwards separate examinations are conducted. Candidates who qualified in the combined TET previously shall appear for separate paper and qualify in concerned paper only.

6. Examination Fee

Fee: ₹1000/- for each paper (Paper‑1A, 1B, 2A, 2B separately). Payment through payment gateway from 05.06.2026 to 05.07.2026. Online application at official website http://cse.ap.gov.in from 05.06.2026 to 05.07.2026. Candidates desiring to apply for all papers must pay ₹1000 per paper.

9. Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications

Candidates must possess minimum qualifications for respective papers as per Information Bulletin. Final semester teacher education course (NCTE/RCI recognized) candidates may appear. Passing APTET does not automatically confer right to teacher recruitment; candidates must satisfy all statutory recruitment rules. Details of qualifications are provided in the Information Bulletin.

10. Course Completion Certificates

Candidates must possess certificates as on last date of application. Those pursuing final semester (D.El.Ed / B.Ed / Special Education) are eligible to appear but cannot appear for Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) solely with APTET certificate unless they acquire required qualifications. Mere qualification in APTET shall not confer right to appear TRT without prescribed qualifications.
