1. Introduction & Objective
The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test APTET-JUNE-2026 will be conducted by the Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh across all districts through a Computer Based Test (CBT). The test ensures National Standards and benchmark of Teacher Quality in recruitment as per NCTE norms. Qualifying TET is an essential qualification for appointment as teacher in any school (Government & Private) referred to in class (n) section-2 of the RTE Act.
2. Applicability & Legal Framework
Online applications are invited from all aspiring teachers for Classes I to VIII in State Government, Mandal Parishad, Zilla Parishad, Municipality, AP Model Schools, AP Residential Schools, Welfare Society Schools, Private Aided and Unaided Schools under the control of Andhra Pradesh State. As per RTE Act 2009 and NCTE principal notification (23rd August 2010), minimum qualifications include a pass in Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
3. Eligibility to Appear
Candidates possessing D.El.Ed / B.Ed or equivalent qualifications (as per Information Bulletin), including those pursuing final semester of recognized teacher education courses, may appear for APTET-JUNE-2026. Private unaided school aspirants can opt for CTET instead of APTET. Candidates wishing to improve their APTET score may also apply.
4. Paper Structure – CBT Mode
Paper-1A (Classes I-V general), Paper-1B (Classes I-V Special Schools), Paper-2A (Classes VI-VIII general), Paper-2B (Classes VI-VIII Special Schools). Candidates aiming for Special Schools must appear for Paper-1B or Paper-2B accordingly.
5. APTET Applicability & In-service Teachers
APTET applies to all schools under Clause (n) of Section 2 of RTE Act. Private unaided schools may consider Central TET or APTET. Non-approved teachers in Private Aided Schools shall appear for State TET only.
5.2 Language & Social Studies Candidates
Before 2017 there was a common paper for SA (Languages) and SA (Social Studies). From 2017 TET onwards separate examinations are conducted. Candidates who qualified in the combined TET previously shall appear for separate paper and qualify in concerned paper only.
6. Examination Fee
Fee: ₹1000/- for each paper (Paper‑1A, 1B, 2A, 2B separately). Payment through payment gateway from 05.06.2026 to 05.07.2026. Online application at official website http://cse.ap.gov.in from 05.06.2026 to 05.07.2026. Candidates desiring to apply for all papers must pay ₹1000 per paper.
7. Online Application Procedure
Information Bulletin can be downloaded free from APTET website from 05.06.2026 onwards. Online submissions from 05.06.2026 to 05.07.2026. No edit/modify after final submission. Corrections require fresh application with ₹1000 fee within due date.
8. Examination Centres
Conducted in all district headquarters / municipalities / revenue divisions / mandals. Based on applicants, centres may be allotted in adjacent districts or neighbouring states. Candidates can opt districts on first-cum-first-serve basis. No change of centre or session is allowed.
9. Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
Candidates must possess minimum qualifications for respective papers as per Information Bulletin. Final semester teacher education course (NCTE/RCI recognized) candidates may appear. Passing APTET does not automatically confer right to teacher recruitment; candidates must satisfy all statutory recruitment rules. Details of qualifications are provided in the Information Bulletin.
10. Course Completion Certificates
Candidates must possess certificates as on last date of application. Those pursuing final semester (D.El.Ed / B.Ed / Special Education) are eligible to appear but cannot appear for Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) solely with APTET certificate unless they acquire required qualifications. Mere qualification in APTET shall not confer right to appear TRT without prescribed qualifications.
Only NCTE recognized Diploma/Degree in Teacher Education is considered. For Special Education (D.Ed / B.Ed) RCI recognition required. Intermediate/graduation must be from recognized BIE/UGC university.
11. Structure, Syllabus & Content
Detailed structure, breakup of 150 marks per paper, weightage criteria, and syllabus are given in the Information Bulletin. Syllabus can be downloaded from cse.ap.gov.in — suggestive but not exhaustive.
12. Application Responsibility
Candidates must personally complete all sections, review before submission. Opportunity for corrections before final payment.
13. Pass Criteria in APTET (Total Marks: 150)

Differently abled candidates (Visual, Orthopedic, Hearing Impaired, Autism) with at least 40% disability considered. Hearing Impairment definition: Deaf = 70 DB loss, Hard of Hearing = 60–70 DB loss (as per GO.MS.No:36, dt.23-08-2023). Medical certificate for APTET category does not guarantee acceptance for recruitment; validation by Medical Board required at recruitment stage.

15. Weightage in Teacher Recruitment (TRT)
20% weightage will be given to APTET score in the ensuing Teacher Recruitment Test of Andhra Pradesh State. Selection list = 20% APTET score + 80% written test in TRT.
16. Objections on Key
Subject expert committee (SCERT) is final authority to redress objections on initial key. No objections on final key will be entertained.
17. Normalization Procedure
Standard normalization technique is adopted for multi‑shift APTET examination. Formula used:
Where: \(\hat{M}_{ij}\) = Normalized marks of jth candidate in ith shift, \(\overline{M}_t^g\) = avg of top 0.1% candidates across all shifts, \(M_{ii}\) = avg top 0.1% in i-th shift, \(M_{ij}\) = actual marks obtained. Calculations up to 5 decimal places.
18. Legal Jurisdiction
All legal disputes with regard to conduct of TET shall be subject to jurisdiction of Honourable Courts located in State of Andhra Pradesh only.

Additional Clarifications (extracts from notification)
- School referred to in sub-clause (iv) clause(n) of section 2 of RTE Act may consider either Central TET or APTET.
- Teachers in Private Schools without competent authority approval are not exempted from TET; such teachers of Private Unaided Schools shall appear for State or Central TET.
- Non-approved teachers of Private Aided Schools must appear for APTET (State Government only).
- For special schools — Paper-1B (I-V) and Paper-2B (VI-VIII) specific eligibility.
- Existing Teachers (SGT/SA) without TET qualification are allowed to appear per GO Ms No.36, exempted from certain eligibility clauses.
