Rt. No.24, MA&UD Dept, dt. 17.01.2025 [⌊SASA pledge for April 2026.png⌉⌊SASA pledge for April 2026.png⌉[ SASA pledge for April 2026.png As per the Government Orders cited and the directions of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, the **third Saturday of every month** is being observed as **“Swachha Andhra Day”** across all districts, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Rural Local Bodies (RLBs), and Government institutions — to promote cleanliness, public health, and citizen participation. Under the **Swarna Andhra – Swachha Andhra (SASA)** programme for April 2026, the State-level event will be held on **18.04.2026 at Nidadavole, East Godavari District** with the theme **“Jalam – Jeevam” (Water is Life)**. All districts are requested to organize focused, result-oriented activities aimed at strengthening water conservation, improving water resource management, promoting reuse of treated water, and enhancing community participation in sustainable water practices. ** April 2026 SASA Activities** 💧 Suggested Activities – “Jalam – Jeevam” 💧 Revival, repair & activation of rainwater harvesting structures in public & private buildings 🏞️ Identification, protection & cleanliness drives for lakes, tanks, ponds & other water bodies ♻️ Expansion of used-water (greywater) management systems – soak pits, drainage channels & reuse arrangements 🚰 Promotion of treated wastewater reuse for parks, construction, flushing & non- potable purposes 📢 Community awareness campaigns on water conservation, responsible usage & water budgeting 📋 Water audits in government buildings, schools, public institutions to assess usage & identify conservation measures 📊 Monitor changes in groundwater levels & soil moisture conditions using spatial& field data 🧹 Cleaning drives for drains & water bodies to prevent stagnation & improve environmental hygiene 🏡 Encourage decentralized wastewater management at household & community levels 🤝 Promote participation of citizens, SHGs, RWAs, farmers, youth groups & educational institutions 🔄 Ensure convergence among MA&UD, Panchayat Raj & Rural Development, Irrigation, Ground Water Dept, Rural Water Supply, Health Dept & other line departments 📌 Implementation & Reporting Guidelines * Ensure participation of all District and Zonal Special Officers. * Assign the Chief Planning Officer (CPO) as the District Nodal Officer for monitoring and reporting through the SASA App. * Encourage inter-departmental coordination among all concerned departments. * Involve citizens, RWAs, SHGs, NGOs, educational institutions, and community organizations in planning and execution. * Focus on measurable outcomes (see metrics below). * Submit activity-wise documentation, success stories, and best practices through photographs, video reels, and geo-tagged evidence on the SASA platform. **📊 Focus on measurable outcomes:** ✅ Functional RWH structures revived/created ✅ Water bodies cleaned & protected ✅ Greywater management systems established ✅ Treated wastewater reuse extent ✅ Reduction in water stagnation issues ✅ Citizen participation & feedback 📢 Directives to all District Collectors All District Collectors are requested to ensure effective execution of the above activities on **18.04.2026** and encourage maximum public participation. Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned departments, institutions, and local bodies. Further, District Collectors are requested to convene **planning and coordination meetings in advance** to ensure participation of all line departments, ULBs/RLBs, institutions, schools, sanitation workers, and public representatives.
