అన్ని సబ్జెక్టుల అభ్యర్థులూ రాయాల్సినది. 50 ప్రశ్నలు, 100 మార్కులు. ప్రధానంగా అభ్యర్థి వివేచనా సామర్థ్యం, విషయ అవగాహన, విభిన్న ఆలోచన విధానం, సాధారణ పరిజ్ఞానం లాంటి అంశాల్లో ప్రశ్నిస్తారు. ప్రధానంగా పది విభాగాలుంటాయి.

ప్రతి విభాగం నుంచి ప్రశ్నలకు అవకాశమున్న అంశాలు/ భావనలు ఎంచుకొని సన్నద్ధత ప్రారంభించాలి. జ్ఞానాత్మక సామర్థ్యాలు, అవబోధం, విశ్లేషణ, మూల్యాంకనం, ఆగమన, నిగమన, తార్కిక వివేచన సామర్థ్యాలు, పర్యావరణం, సహజ వనరులు, సమాచార సాంకేతిక రంగంపై మూలభావనలు, ఆధునిక జీవన విధానంపై ప్రభావం మొదలైన అంశాలపై లోతైన అవగాహన, పరిజ్ఞానం అవసరం. బోధనాస్వభావం, లక్ష్యాలు, లక్షణాలు, బోధన ఉపగమాలు, మదింపు, మూల్యాంకనం, పరిశోధన-స్వభావం, సోపానాలు, పద్ధతులు, విలువలు, పరిశోధన వ్యాసం లక్షణాలు, కమ్యూనికేషన్‌ అర్థం, రకాలు, లక్షణాలు, అవరోధాలు, ఇంటర్‌నెట్‌, ఈ-మెయిల్‌, కంప్యూటర్‌ మెమరీ- ఈ భావలపై ప్రామాణిక పుస్తకాలు, మెటీరియల్‌ ఆధారంగా, గత ప్రశ్నపత్రాల ఆధారంగా నోట్స్‌ తయారు చేసుకోవాలి. అభ్యాసం, పునశ్చరణ, స్వీయ విశ్లేషణ చేసుకొని, ముందుకు సాగితే ఉత్తమ ఫలితాలు పొందవచ్చు.
పేపర్‌-2:
దీనిలో అభ్యర్థులు ఎంచుకున్న సబ్జెక్టుకు సంబంధించి సమాధానాలు రాయాలి.
100 ప్రశ్నలు, 200 మార్కులు. సబ్జెక్టు పూర్వజ్ఞానం, విషయంపై అవగాహన స్థాయి, మూల భావనలు, ఆధునిక విషయ భావనలు నేర్చుకోవాలి. విషయాన్ని ఉన్నదున్నట్లుగా గాక రకరకాల సందర్భాలకు, సన్నివేశాలకు అనువర్తింపచేయాల్సిన విధంగా వివిధ సమస్యలను సాధన చేయాలి.
ప్రశ్నల కఠినత్వస్థాయి పెరిగేకొద్దీ, సమాచారాన్ని విస్తరించుకుంటూ అభ్యసించాలి. ఎంచుకున్న సబ్జెక్టులో పీజీ స్థాయి ప్రశ్నలు అడుగుతారు. సబ్జెక్టును పూర్తిగా అవగాహన చేసుకొని, అన్వయించగలిగే సామర్థ్యాన్ని పొందివుండాలి. అకడమిక్‌ పరీక్షలకు చదివిన విషయాన్ని, ఆబ్జెక్టివ్‌ ప్రశ్నలలోకి మార్చుకోగలగాలి. సన్నద్ధతలో నాణ్యత ముఖ్యం * ఒకే సూత్రం, భావనలపై వైవిధ్యభరితంగా ఉండే ప్రశ్నలు సాధన చేయాలి. ప్రశ్నలో అంతర్లీనంగా ఉండే విషయం/ భావనపై దృష్టి పెట్టాలి. * ప్రశ్నలు జతపరచడం, సమస్యాపూరణం మొదలైనవి లోతుగా, విశ్లేషణాత్మకంగా అధ్యయనం చేయాలి. * మొదట సాధన నిదానంగా ఉండడం, చిన్నచిన్న పొరపాట్లు జరగడం సహజం. నిరంతర ప్రేరణతో, అభ్యాసం చేయడం వల్ల తప్పులు లేకుండా సాధించే సామర్థ్యం అలవడుతుంది. వేగంగా, కచ్చితంగా సాధించే నైపుణ్యం వస్తుంది. షార్ట్‌కట్స్‌, కొండ గుర్తులు సొంతంగా తయారుచేసుకుంటే సమయం ఆదా అవుతుంది. * నేర్చుకోదలచిన విషయంపై మంచి పట్టు ఏర్పడిన తర్వాత నమూనా పరీక్షలు సాధన చేయాలి. * అభ్యర్థులు రెండు పేపర్లలో ప్రతి అంశంలో తమ బలాలు, బలహీనతలు అంచనా వేసుకోవాలి. దానికి అనుగుణంగా, విశ్లేషణాత్మకంగా చదవాలి. అదనపు సమాచారంకోసం రెఫరెన్స్‌ పుస్తకాలు, యూట్యూబ్‌, సామాజిక మాధ్యమాల ద్వారా వివరణలతో కూడిన బోధనను వినియోగించుకోవాలి. * గత ప్రశ్నపత్రాలను విశ్లేషణ చేసుకొని, ఏ అంశాలకు ప్రాధాన్యముందో స్పష్టత పెంచుకోవాలి. * నిర్ణీత కాలంలో సిలబస్‌, మోడల్‌ పరీక్షలు పూర్తిచేసుకోవటానికి ఒత్తిడి లేని ప్రణాళిక సిద్ధం చేసుకోవాలి. * చదివిన అంశాల పునశ్చరణ తప్పనిసరి. మంచి స్కోరు చేయటానికి అవకాశం ఉంటుంది. * పోటీపరీక్ష శైలిలో ముఖ్యాంశాలను అభ్యసించి, సాధన చేయాలి. నిర్ణీత కాలవ్యవధిలో అన్ని ప్రశ్నలకూ సమాధానాలు రాయగలిగేలా నైపుణ్యం పెంపొందించుకోవాలి.

ELIGIBILITY
(i) Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC (on the website: www.ugc.ac.in/oldpdf/consolidated%20list%20of%20All%20universities. pdf) are eligible for this Test.
The Backward Classes (BC) /Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Transgender/persons with disability (PwD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.
(ii) Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of eligibility for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of BC/SC/ ST/PwD category candidates). Such candidates must complete their Masters degree or equivalent examination within two years from the date of SET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
(iii) Candidates belonging to the transgender category would be eligible to draw the same relaxation in fee, age and qualifying criteria for SET (i.e. Assistant Professor) as are available to SC/ST/PwD categories. The subject wise cut-offs for this category should be the lowest among those for SC/ST/PwD/BC categories in the corresponding subject.
(iv) The Ph.D.degree holders whose Master’s level examination have been completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.
(v) Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their Post Graduation only. The candidates, whose Post Graduation subject is not covered in the list of SET subjects may appear in a related subject.
(vi) Candidates are neither required to send any certificates/documents in support of their eligibility nor printout of their Application Form (Confirmation Page) to APSET office. However the candidates, in their own interest, must satisfy themselves about their eligibility for the Test. In the event of any ineligibility being detected by the APSET at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled and they shall be liable for legal action.
(vii) Candidates having post-graduate diploma/certificate awarded by Indian University/ Institute or foreign degree/diploma/certificate awarded by the foreign University/ institute should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence of their diploma/degree/ certificate with Master’s degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), NewDelhi (www.aiu.ac.in)
(viii) There is no upper age limit for applying for eligibility for test.
(ix) The qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor only in the universities/ colleges situated in the Andhra Pradesh state from where they have cleared their SET.
(x) The candidates who have qualified earlier in APSET /UGC NET are not eligible to apply in the same subject they qualified.
