Sub: School Admissions for Academic Year 2026-27 โ€“ Special Campaign “Badi Pilusthundi” โ€“ Instructions issued โ€“ Reg.

Under the Right to Education (RTE) Act 2009, every child in the age group of 6 to 14 years shall be provided eight years of elementary education in an age-appropriate class in the vicinity of their neighborhood. The right to education holds the same legal status as the Right to Life under Article 21(a) of the Indian Constitution.

In view of this, the โ€œBadi Pilusthundiโ€ special campaign is proposed to complete admissions for the 2026-27 academic year in all Government, Zilla Parishad, and Municipal schools from 17th April 2026 to 23rd April 2026. All stakeholders โ€“ teachers, school heads, parents, and local community members โ€“ must be actively involved in planning and implementation to sustain and improve student enrollment.

๐ŸŽฏ Key Objectives of โ€œBadi Pilusthundiโ€
  • Complete admissions for 2026-27 from 17th April onwards
  • Target children completing 5 years in Anganwadi Centres
  • Admission of Class V passed students into Class VI in High Schools
  • Focus on slum areas, drop-outs, out-of-school children
  • Encourage parents to choose Government schools & highlight benefits (free education, digital classrooms, English medium, nutrition, etc.)
  • Create awareness among private school parents about government school infrastructure and quality teaching

โš™๏ธ Roles โ€“ District Level Team
  • Plan & lead the campaign, ensure participation of MLAs, MLCs, ZP chairpersons at launch.
  • Coordinate with APC Samagra Siksha for publicity material, admit cards, registers.
  • Assign roles to sectoral officers & CRPs to mobilise parents and ensure high enrollment.
  • Submit compliance report to DSE, AP, Amaravati.
๐Ÿ“‹ Roles โ€“ Mandal Level Team
  • Lead mandal & school level campaign; cover all habitations through public representatives.
  • Joint action by MPDO, MEO & CDPO, Anganwadi supervisors to admit 5+ children into nearby MPP/Government schools.
  • MEO coordinates with HMs & SMCs to ensure admission of dropouts & out-of-school children.
๐Ÿ“š School Level Activities & Action Plan
  • Obtain list of 5-year-completed children from local AWCs and list of Class V students from feeder primary schools.
  • Hold meetings with Anganwadi workers and parents, highlight benefits of govt schooling.
  • Maintain Admission Register; issue Admission Card for 2026-27 class.
  • Utilize village/ward secretariat services for enrollment drive; submit daily report to MEO.
  • Ensure 100% catchment area enrollment; identify private school & drop-out children through survey.
  • Organise early morning rally with banners/placards, followed by school assembly displaying enrollment register and plan.

Expenditure to be incurred from School Grant funds. Regional Joint Directors, DEOs and Project Officers (Samagra Shiksha) are instructed to take immediate action for completion of admissions prior to closure of the present academic year, in line with the schedule. Locally designed innovative campaign activities may be undertaken to ensure maximum enrolment.
