All the District Educational Officers and Additional Project Coordinators, Samagra Shiksha in the State are informed that the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India has stated that “Jal Shakthi Abhiyan: Catch the Rain” campaign was launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister on 22^nd March, 2021. The campaign focuses on rainwater harvesting & water conservation, enumerating, geo-tagging & making inventory of all water bodies; preparation of scientific plans for water conservation, setting up Jal Shakti Kendras in all districts, intensive afforestation and awareness generation and decided to organize Jal Pakhwada from 16^th to 30^th April, this year also has been organized last year in all schools, educational institutions in an appropriate manner with active involvement of students and teachers. The schools/institutions are instructed again to undertake the following suggested participatory activities during the period mentioned above:

Jal Shapath may be organised by all schools and educational institutions on the first working day of the Pakhwada and during morning assemblies every day, wherein all students and teachers/staff may participate.
Holding meeting of SMCs/PTAs or Workshops in the first week of the Pakhwada to highlight the importance of “Water Conservation” in school as well as home. Workshops on Water Conservation may be included in the school syllabi to spread awareness for water conservation.
Competitions may be held in districts/block/clusters for conserving water in schools; Debates/Essay/Quiz competition for students for conserving water in schools; Painting competition for students, teachers and parents.
Debates on conserving water awareness messages to be posted on the website of the Organisation/schools. Alternatively, photographs on water conservation may be displayed in schools/institutions.

Further, in order to give impetus to the programme and create mass awareness, it is requested that the districts may undertake the following:

Electronic banners may be created and uploaded on the departmental/state web portals to highlight the observance of the Pakhwada. Publicity and awareness generation may be done through use of social media, as well as electronic and print media.
Increased focus may be given on community participation for the Water Conservation Abhiyan in schools/institutions and schools may also be involved in undertaking awareness drives in nearby areas.
Songs on water conservation may be created.
Special Awareness Campaigns for conserving water during the Jal Pakhwada, especially in rural areas.

Hence, all the District Educational Officers and Additional Project Coordinators of Samagra are requested to take necessary action and issue necessary instructions to schools/educational institutions in their jurisdiction, and conducted the Jal Pakhwada program activities on before last working day so as to ensure great participation of students, teachers, parents, SMC in the Jal Pakhwada from 16.04.2025 to 23.04.2025 and make it a grand success. The day-wise schedule is given below.

Hence, all the District Educational Officers and Additional Project Coordinators, Samagra Shiksha in the State are requested to follow the above schedule and kindly intimate the number of schools and students participated in the Pakhwada, activity-wise in their jurisdiction. Photographs, video, films, etc. together with highlights of each day of the Pakhwada may be uploaded on daily basis on the Google tracker(Data) and Google drive (Photos, Videos and pictures).
