All the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers in the State are informed that Schools under the School Education Department, Andhra Pradesh, will reopen on 12 June 2026 for Academic Year 2026-27. The first day of school is a significant occasion for students, parents, teachers and the community — it marks a new beginning and sets the tone for the entire year. A “Student Welcome Festival” (‘Mana Badi – Mana Panduga’) shall be organized to ensure every student feels welcomed, respected and motivated to learn.

🎯 1. Objectives

✨ Welcome all students warmly & create a joyful, child-friendly atmosphere
📚 Facilitate smooth transitions for students entering Grades 1, 6 and 9 & all new entrants
🔄 Re-integrate never-enrolled, dropouts, and students transferring from private schools or other districts/states
👨‍👩‍👧 Encourage active participation of parents, SMC, and community members
💙 Promote regular attendance, retention, and a sense of belonging from Day 1

👧🧒 2. COVERAGE – “ALL NEW ENTRANTS”

  • Students from Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) entering Grade 1 for the first time
  • Students transitioning from primary to upper primary (Grade 6) and upper primary to secondary (Grade 9)
  • Never-enrolled or dropout children returning to school
  • Students transferring from private schools or other institutions
  • Students from other blocks, clusters, districts or states
  • All other students attending on the reopening day

🧹 3. PREPARATORY ACTIVITIES – School Readiness & Beautification

🤝 4. Community Mobilisation & Logistics

  • Welcoming Committee: HM (Chair), 2-3 teachers, SMC President/VP, 4-5 senior student volunteers, 2 parents.
  • Teachers and SMC members to personally visit village habitations to invite new students and parents.
  • HM to assign a senior ‘Buddy Student’ to each new entrant (Gr. 5 buddy for Gr. 1; Gr. 8/10 for Gr. 6/9; 1 buddy per 3-5 new students).
  • Coordinate with AWW teachers for seamless Class 1 transition; Coordinate with MDM cook for a special sweet treat / pongal on Day 1.
  • Prepare simple welcome kits: handmade bookmark, school timetable, greeting card from classmates (zero cost).
  • Conduct a guided School Campus tour for new students.

👥 6. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

📢 Additional instruction – In addition to the above, the collective pledge shall be administered which shall be recited by all present: students, parents, teachers, SMC members and community guests. The headmaster or a senior teacher shall lead and all participants should repeat the pledge. The collective pledge is appended to this proceeding.

1. ప్రతి బిడ్డ సురక్షితంగా, సంతోషంగా పాఠశాలకు వచ్చేలా చేయడం మా బాధ్యత.
2. ఏ విద్య కూడా బడి మానకుండా, చదువు అర్ధాంతరంగా ఆగకుండా కాపాడతాం.
3. పాఠశాలను అందరికీ సమ్మిళిత, వివక్షత లేని స్థలంగా నిలబడతాం.
