National Awards to Teachers

The purpose of National Awards to Teachers is to celebrate the unique contribution of some of the finest teachers in the country and to honor those teachers who through their commitment and industry have not only improved the quality of school education but also enriched the lives of their students.

Instituted in 1958, the National Awards to Teachers are given away by The President of India (or) The Vice President of India on 5th September (Teacher’s Day) every year to give public recognition to meritorious teachers working in primary, middle and secondary schools. The NAT is being executed under the overall supervision of the Ministry of Human Development (MHRD).

School teachers and Head ministers of schools working in recognized primary/middle/high/higher secondary schools under the following categories:

  • Schools run by State Govt./UTs Administration, schools run by local bodies, schools aided by State Govt. and UT Administration.

  • Central Govt. Schools i.e. Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Jawahar Navodaya     Vidyalayas (JNVs), Central Schools for Tibetans (CTSA), Sainik Schools run by Ministry of Defence (MoD), Schools run by Atomic Energy Education Society (AEES).

  • Schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) (other than those at (a) and (b) above)

  • Schools affiliated to Council for Indian Schools Certificate Examination (CISCE) (Other than those at (a), (b) and (c) above)

  • Also, retired teachers who have served a part of the calendar year (at least for four months i.e. up to 30th April in the year to which National Awards relates) may be considered if they fulfil all the other conditions.

ఉత్తమ ఉపాధ్యాయ అవార్డులు*

▪️ అన్ని యాజమాన్యాల పాఠశాలల ఉపాధ్యాయుల నుంచి 2018 సంవత్సరానికిగాను జాతీయస్థాయి ఉత్తమ ఉపాధ్యాయ అవార్డుల నిమిత్తం దరఖాస్తులకు ప్రకటన. 

▪️ జూన్‌ 15వ తేదీలోగా దరఖాస్తు చేసుకోవాలి. 

▪️జిల్లా ఎంపిక కమిటీ నామినేషన్స్‌ నుంచి రాష్ట్రస్థాయి ఎంపిక కమిటీకి జులై 7వ తేదీలోగా పంపిస్తారు.

▪️రాష్ట్ర ఎంపిక కమిటీ షార్ట్‌ లిస్టు చేసిన దరఖాస్తులను ఆన్‌లైన్‌ పోర్టల్‌ నుంచి ఇండిపెండెంట్‌ నేషనల్‌ జ్యూరీకి జులై 8నుంచి జులై22లోగా పంపిస్తారు.

▪️ ఎంహెచ్‌ఆర్‌డీ షార్ట్‌ లిస్ట్‌ చేసే ఉపాధ్యాయుల వివరాలను జులై 25న వెబ్‌సైట్‌లో పొందుపరుస్తారు.

▪️ జాతీయస్థాయి ఉత్తమ ఉపాధ్యాయ అవార్డులకు ఎంపికైన ఉపాధ్యాయుల వివరాలను ఆగస్టు 16న వెబ్‌సైట్‌లో పెడతారు.

▪️విద్యా ప్రమాణాల పెంపుతో పాటు విద్యార్థుల అభివృద్ధికి కృషి చేసినవారికి ప్రాధాన్యతనిస్తారు.

▪️ ప్రాథమిక, ప్రాథమికోన్నత, ఉన్నత పాఠశాలల్లో పనిచేసే ఉపాధ్యాయులు, ప్రధానోపాధ్యాయులు దరఖాస్తు చేసుకునేందుకు అర్హులు.

▪️ విశ్రాంత ఉపాధ్యాయులు ఇందుకు అనర్హులు. 

▪️ ఉత్తమ ఉపాధ్యాయులకు ఆయా కేటగిరీల్లో సాధించిన మార్కుల ఆధారంగా ఎంపిక.

ONLINE APPLICATION FOR NATIONAL AWARDS TO TEACHERS

WHO CAN NOMINATE A TEACHER?

It is a self-nominating awards. teachers and Headministers of schools themselves can apply directly by filling the application form online through the web portal before the prescribed cut-off date.

  • Retired teachers who have not served at least a part of the calendar year – at least for four months i.e. up to 30th April in the year to which National Awards relates.

  • Teacher/Headmasters who have indulged in tuitions.

  • Contractual Teachers and Shiksha Mitras are also not be eligible.

The nominations close on 15th June 2019.

CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY OF TEACHERS FOR CONSIDERATION FOR THE AWARDS:

  • School teachers and Heads of Schoolsworking in recognized primary/middle/high/higher secondary schools under the following categories:

    a) Schools run by State Govt./UTs Administration, schools run by local bodies, schools aided by State Govt. and UT Administration.

    b) Central Govt. Schools i.e. Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), Central Schools for Tibetans (CTSA), Sainik Schools run by Ministry of Defence (MoD), Schools run by Atomic Energy Education Society (AEES).

    d) Schools affiliated to Council for Indian Schools Certificate Examination (CISCE) (Other than those at (a), (b) and (c) above)

  • Normally retired teachers are not eligible for the award but those teachers who have served a part of the calendar year (at least for four months i.e. upto 30th April in the year to which National Award relates) may be considered if they fulfill all other conditions.

  • Educational Administrators, Inspectors of Education, and the staff of training Institutes are not eligible for these awards

  • Teacher/Headmaster should not have indulged in tuitions

  • Only regular Teachers and Heads of Schools will be eligible.

  • Contractual Teachers and Shiksha Mitras will not be eligible.

  • Opening of Web-Portal for inviting applications – 6th May to 15th June, 2019.

  • District Selection Committee Nominations to be forwarded to the State Selection Committee by 7thJune, 2019.

  • State Selection Committee shortlist to be forwarded through online portal to Independent National Jury by 22nd July, 2019

  • Letters/Communication to be issued by MHRD through online portal to all the shortlisted candidates by 25th July 2019.

  • Finalization of names by Independent National Jury by 16th August, 2019.

  • Central Govt. Schools i.e. Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), Central Schools for Tibetans (CTSA), Sainik Schools run by Ministry of Defence (MoD), Schools run by Atomic Energy Education Society (AEES).

  • Schools affiliated to Council for Indian Schools Certificate Examination (CISCE)
