All District Educational officers, Principal DIETs and all the DLCs who are appointed for PARAK 2024 are requested to read and follow the instruction given hereunder.

In preparation for the PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 scheduled on December 4, all District-Level Coordinators (DLCs) and District-Level Master Trainers (DLMTs) are directed as follows:

1. Nomination of Field Investigators (FIs): DLCs must complete the FI nomination ensuring all details of venue and dates are included and send the details in the format already communicated (also attached here) to the [email protected] on or before 04- 11-2024 so as to update the same in the Google Sheet shared by PARAKH.

2. FI Training Workshops: DLMTs are responsible for organizing in- person workshops for Field Investigators, with DLC supervision. Ensure that all Fls are trained according to the guidelines outlined in the PARAKH Operational Manual.

1. Use of Operational Guidelines: All participants should reference the PARAKH Operational Guidelines & Training Manual available at https://ncert.nic.in/parakh/pdf/OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES.pdf (also enclosed). All personnel involved in training and implementation should familiarize themselves with this manual.

3. Monitoring and Attendance: SLMTs are encouraged to attend sessions physically, and SLCs may participate online or offline to monitor training quality.

4. Compliance with Training Norms: Training expenses will follow NCERT norms or the State’s specific guidelines. Remuneration and allowances are to be disbursed as per approved rates.

This office mandates strict adherence to these instructions to ensure effective implementation of the PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024.

Overview

In the dynamic landscape of education, understanding student performance is crucial for fostering growth and innovation. Since 2001, nationwide achievement surveys conducted by NCERT have provided critical insights into India’s school education system. Now, as we step into a new era of education with our focus on competency-based education, PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 is set to lead the way under the National Assessment Centre—PARAKH. This large-scale national survey will comprehensively evaluate the progress of learners across the Foundational, Preparatory, and Middle Stages specifically aligned with the ambitious objectives outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Scheduled for 4th December 2024, this landmark survey will engage 75,565 unique schools, reaching over 22,94,377 students in Grade 3, Grade 6, and Grade 9. By meticulously assessing competencies in critical subjects like Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and The World Around Us, we aim to provide comprehensive insights into the educational journey of our learners. Building upon the foundations laid by the National Achievement Survey (NAS), PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 is designed to assess schools as comprehensive entities, focusing on the overall health of the education system in each district. This includes government, government-aided, and private institutions alike.

It uses a paper-based approach with innovative OMR technology, ensuring a robust evaluation process. This initiative is not just an assessment; it’s a cornerstone for driving educational reforms aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. By gathering rich data and insights, we are committed to paving the way for a brighter, more equitable educational future for every child in India.

Survey Details: What Will Be Assessed?

In PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024, students from Grade 3, Grade 6, and Grade 9 will be evaluated across different subjects and competency areas:

At Grades 3 & 6 learners will be evaluated in Language, Mathematics, The World Around Us (TWAU) and the assessment time will be 90 minutes.
At Grade 9, learners will be evaluated in Language, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science and the Assessment time for them will be 120 minutes.

This survey also delves deeper into understanding learning conditions by collecting contextual data through Teacher Questionnaires (TQ), School Questionnaires (SQ), and Pupil Questionnaires (PQ).
