SASA July Activities 2026

As per the Government Orders and the directions of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, the third Saturday of every month is being observed as “Swachha Andhra Day” across all districts, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Rural Local Bodies (RLBs), and Government institutions to promote cleanliness, public health, environmental sustainability, and citizen participation.
Accordingly, the Swarna Andhra – Swachha Andhra (SASA) State-level programme is scheduled to be conducted at Madanapalle ULB, Annamayya District on 18.07.2026. All districts are requested to organize focused and result-oriented sanitation activities on the said day and ensure active participation of all stakeholders for achieving cleaner, healthier, and litter-free surroundings.
📌 Suggested Activities
- Organize special sanitation drives in all ULBs and Gram Panchayats covering roads, streets, public places, markets, bus stands, railway stations, parks, educational institutions, and government offices.
- Conduct intensive cleaning of drains, canals, lakes, ponds, and other water bodies to prevent water stagnation and improve environmental hygiene.
- Remove garbage vulnerable points (GVPs) and ensure their conversion into clean and green public spaces.
- Ensure 100% door-to-door collection of waste and promote source segregation of wet, dry, and domestic hazardous waste.
- Strengthen the functioning of Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs), RRR Centers, composting units, and other waste processing facilities.
- Undertake special drives for cleaning and maintenance of public and community toilets and ensure availability of water, electricity, and proper upkeep.
- Conduct awareness campaigns on personal hygiene, sanitation practices, waste segregation, and environmental cleanliness.
- Organize plantation and beautification activities in public places, parks, institutions, and along roadsides.
- Mobilize SHGs, NGOs, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), youth groups, educational institutions, and citizen groups to actively participate in cleanliness drives.
- Conduct rallies, human chains, street plays, and other IEC activities to create awareness among citizens on the importance of sanitation and public cleanliness.
- Promote elimination of littering and encourage community ownership for maintaining clean surroundings.
- Document best practices and successful sanitation initiatives for replication across the State.
đź“‹ Implementation & Reporting Guidelines
- Ensure participation of all District and Zonal Special Officers.
- Assign the Chief Planning Officer (CPO) as District Nodal Officer for monitoring and reporting through the SASA App.
- Encourage inter-departmental coordination among MA&UD, PR&RD, Health, Education, Tourism, Endowments, and allied departments.
- Involve Elected Representatives, ULBs, RLBs, Educational Institutions, SHGs, NGOs, Civic Organizations, and public representatives.
- Submit activity-wise documentation, success stories, photographs, video reels, and best practices on the SASA platform.
Further, District Collectors are requested to convene planning and coordination meetings well in advance to ensure participation of all line departments, ULBs/RLBs, institutions, schools, sanitation workers, and public representatives. The outcomes shall be documented and reported with photographs, video reels, and activity-wise metrics.
