Swarna Andhra – Swachha Andhra – Observance of Monthly “Swachha Andhra Day” on the Third Saturday, i.e., 20.06.2026 – Statewide round‑up and culmination of “Operation Clean Sweep” – Conduct of comprehensive cleanliness activities in saturation mode – Coordination with Annadata Sukhibhava programme – Reg.

As per the Government Orders and the directions of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, the third Saturday of every month is being observed as “Swachha Andhra Day” across all districts, Urban Local Bodies, Rural Local Bodies, Government institutions and public places under the Swarna Andhra – Swachha Andhra campaign, with the objective of promoting cleanliness, public hygiene, environmental responsibility and sustained citizen participation.

The monthly Swachha Andhra Day for June 2026 falls on 20.06.2026. The said day also marks the culmination of the 30‑day “Operation Clean Sweep” campaign, which has been implemented across all Urban Local Bodies from 23.05.2026 to 20.06.2026.

Accordingly, it is proposed that the SASA programme on 20.06.2026 be organised as a Statewide round‑up and culmination of Operation Clean Sweep, by taking up all categories of cleanliness and sanitation activities covered during the campaign in a comprehensive and saturation‑mode drive.

Activities to be undertaken (in saturation mode):

1. Intensive sweeping and cleaning of main roads, internal roads, junctions, ward entry points, footpaths, public spaces and open areas.
2. Identification and complete clearance of red spots, yellow spots, black spots, legacy waste heaps and other visibly unclean locations.
3. Transformation of all Garbage Vulnerable Points in a ward‑wise and village‑wise manner, along with physical quantification of the waste removed.
4. Cleaning and desilting of storm‑water drains, roadside drains, nallahs, canals, culverts and drain edges, with arrangements for immediate transportation of the removed silt and waste.
5. Deep cleaning of back lanes, narrow streets, residential colonies, slums, commercial areas, markets and vending zones.
6. Identification of Bulk Waste Generators as per SWM Rules 2026.
7. Deep cleaning and sanitisation of all public and community toilets, including minor repairs, restoration of water supply, lighting and essential amenities wherever required.
8. Creation of sanitation and waste management infrastructure at all the Tourist, Heritage, Pilgrim and other high footfall locations.
9. Cleaning of lakes, ponds, canals, beaches, riverbanks, bus stations, railway station surroundings, hospitals, schools, Anganwadi Centres, Government offices, parks, playgrounds, burial grounds and other prominent public locations.
10. Strengthening of Material Recovery Facilities, Solid Waste Processing Centres, SWPC sheds, RRR Centres, Green Shops and other waste collection and processing facilities.
11. Conduct of rallies, human chains, cleanliness pledges, street plays, door‑to‑door awareness campaigns and other IEC activities on cleanliness, source segregation, plastic reduction and responsible disposal of waste.
12. Mobilisation of public representatives, SHGs, youth groups, NGOs, RWAs, Market associations, Educational institutions, Swachhata volunteers and citizens.
13. Recognition and felicitation of sanitation workers, volunteers, institutions, wards, villages and local bodies that have demonstrated exemplary performance during Operation Clean Sweep.

Programme Schedule & Coordination with Annadata Sukhibhava

It is brought to notice that the Swarna Andhra – Swachha Andhra programme and the Annadata Sukhibhava programme fall on the same day, i.e. 20.06.2026. Therefore, in order to ensure effective implementation and maximum participation in both programmes:

• The SASA cleanliness programme may be conducted during the morning hours, with participation of District Collectors, Municipal Commissioners, district and mandal‑level officers, public representatives and citizens.
• After completion of the SASA programme, the Annadata Sukhibhava programme may be organised in synchronisation with the HPM and HCM programmes, in accordance with the instructions of the Hon’ble Chief Minister.
• District Collectors shall prepare a coordinated district‑level schedule so that the conduct of one programme does not affect participation in the other and both programmes are implemented effectively.

Implementation and Monitoring

District Collectors are requested to:

1. Conduct advance planning and coordination meetings with all line departments, Municipal Commissioners, District Panchayat Officers, MPDOs, Panchayat Secretaries and institutional heads.
2. Personally lead and monitor the district‑level programme and ensure the participation of all District and Special Officers.
3. Designate the Chief Planning Officer as the District Nodal Officer for coordination, monitoring and submission of reports through the SASA platform.
4. Ensure simultaneous conduct of the programme across all wards, villages and institutions in the district.
5. Capture geo‑tagged “before” and “after” photographs and videos of every major location covered.
6. Upload the complete activity details, photographs, video reels, success stories and measurable outcomes on the SASA App and the prescribed reporting platforms within the stipulated timelines.
7. Give wide publicity to the programme through print, electronic and social media and document innovative initiatives and best practices for State‑level dissemination.

All District Collectors are requested to accord top priority to the programme and ensure that the Swachha Andhra Day on 20.06.2026 results in visible, measurable and sustainable improvement in cleanliness across the State and serves as an effective culmination of Operation Clean Sweep.

Necessary instructions may be issued immediately to all concerned departments, institutions, Urban Local Bodies, Rural Local Bodies and stakeholders.
