As we all know certain changes have been made in the question paper pattern for students appearing SSC Public Examinations from March-2020 onwards. The following are the noticeable changes that the students have to be sensitized with.
Under Part – A There are four comprehension passages (one poem) in reading comprehension section. The passages’ length is increased. The first passage is from ‘A readings’ with 2 ‘Wh’ questions and 3 Multiple Choice Questions.
The second comprehension is a stanza from a poem under ‘B readings’ with 3 MCQs. The third comprehension passage is from ‘B readings’ with 2MCQs. The fourth comprehension
passage is from ‘C Readings’ with 2 ‘Wh’ questions and 3MCQS.
In part – B Grammar section 2 marks are allotted to ‘Reported speech’.
The reported speech question is in the form of an exchange.
Marking of omission of articles with ‘X’ is the new thing to be noticed. 2 marks are allotted for filling the 4 blanks with suitable verb forms.
Under Part -C Creative Expressions ‘Framing of Questions for the underlined parts of a passage taken from the ‘C Readings’ is an important inclusion in the present model.
Teachers should train the students to write all the answers for the Questions under Part – B (Grammar) at one place in their answer sheet.
The examinations that are to be held from 14-10-2019 onwards will focus on the changes discussed above and the marks distribution is as given below.(13E).
Reading comprehension – 15 Marks (As explained above)
Grammar – 05 Marks (Only changed model questions)
Creative expression – 05 Marks (Framing ‘Wh’ Questions)
