Sub: “Swarna Andhra – Swachha Andhra” – Theme for the August month is “Monsoon Hygiene” – Suggestive Activities for conducting the program – Reg.

As per the Government Orders and the directions of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, the third Saturday of every month is being observed as ‘Swachha Andhra Day’ across all districts, ULBs, and government institutions to promote the values of cleanliness, public hygiene, and citizen participation.
Suggested Activities:
- Special sanitation and drain clean-up drives in storm water drains, nallahs, and waterlogged areas.
- Fogging operations and source reduction activities to prevent mosquito breeding.
- Cleaning of Community and Public Toilets (CTs/PTs) and ensuring water and hand-washing facilities.
- Door-to-door awareness drives on preventing water-borne and vector-borne diseases.
- Water quality testing and safe drinking water arrangements.
- Identification and cleaning of Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs).
- Organize school and community hand-washing campaigns.
- Formation of special Task Forces for regular monitoring and action.
- Coordinate with Health, School Education, Rural Development, and Drinking Water departments.
- Engage NGOs, SHGs, RWAs and volunteers for community outreach.
- Use digital and print media, posters, and public address systems for awareness drives.
- Share photographs, reels, and reports on the SASA platform using relevant hashtags.
Implementation & Reporting Guidelines:
- Ensure participation of all District and Zonal Special Officers.
- Assign the Chief Planning Officer (CPO) as District Nodal Officer for monitoring and reporting through the SASA App.
- Encourage inter-departmental coordination for effective execution.
- Involve Elected Representatives, Educational Institutions, and Civic Organizations.
- Submit documentation and success stories via photos/videos on SASA platform.
All the District Collectors are requested to ensure effective execution of the above activities on 16.08.2025 and encourage wide participation of the public. Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned departments and institutions.
All the District Collectors are requested to take up planning and coordination meetings well in advance and ensure participation of all line departments, ULBs/RLBs, institutions, schools, and public representatives. The outcomes are to be documented and reported with photographs, video reels, and activity-wise metrics.
