Celebration of Veer Baal Diwas (VBD) on 26th December 2025 – Nationwide Programme – Requested – Regarding.

Reference: D.O.No.31/8/2025 – CW – I, Secretary, Government of India, Ministry of Women & Child Development, dated: 10th December 2025.

The attention of the all DW&CW&EOs in the State is drawn to the subject and reference cited, wherein the Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), has informed that Veer Baal Diwas (VBD) will be celebrated on 26th December 2025 as a nationwide event to honour children as the foundation of India’s future. The National-level celebration will be graced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. The celebration of Veer Baal Diwas aims to emphasize nurturing young minds, fostering creativity, and inspiring children and youth to actively contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Kind attention is invited to the subject and references cited, wherein the Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), has informed that Veer Baal Diwas (VBD) will be celebrated on 26th December 2025 as a nationwide event to honour children as the foundation of India’s future. The National level celebration will be graced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. The celebration of Veer Baal Diwas aims to emphasize nurturing young minds, fostering creativity, and inspiring children and youth to actively contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Further, it is informed that the Under the guidance of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, Veer Bal Diwas will be organised at the national level on 26 December 2025 from 12:30 PM onwards at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi and all officers and staff at the State, District, and Block levels, including DPOs, CMPOs, CDPOs, Supervisors, Anganwadi Workers, Helpers, and officials/staff of OSCs, HEWs, Shakti Sadan, Sakhi Niwas, CCIs, CWCs, and JJBs, as well as SHGs, PRI representatives, health functionaries, members of the legal fraternity,
educational institutions, community leaders, service providers, and civil society organisations, are requested to participate in the programme through mobile
phones, office desktops, laptops, or tablets. It may also be ensured that all PHCs, ANMs, and ASHA workers participate in the programme.

Furthermore, the MWCD has requested the group participation, arrangements may be made in offices, conference halls, schools, or auditoriums to enable maximum participation and States are requested to issue directions to departments such as Education, Rural Development, Health, Panchayati Raj, Agriculture, Skill Development, Culture, Youth and Sports, etc., to encourage their teachers, officers, staff, field workers, and volunteers, including Women Self-Help Groups, My Bharat Volunteers, and educators, to participate in the programme. It is also suggested that the programme may be screened at Common Service Centres, Panchayats, and local bodies to ensure wider outreach.

In view of the above, all Collectors and District Magistrate in the State are hereby requested to issue necessary directions to the concerned staff of Child Care Institutions (CNCP and CCL) run by the Government and NGOs, Specialized Adoption Agencies and Anganwadi Centres, Village Level, Mandal Level, and Constitution Level to conduct programmes to upload photographs and reports of
the activities conducted, as mentioned above, and to submit a copy of the same to this office.

In this connection, the Collectors and District Magistrates are requested to conduct prescribed activities on the eve of Veer Baal Diwas in their Districts and to organize District -level programme on 26th December 2025. They are also requested to ensure the participation of all concerned departments from village level to district level in the national-level programme, to be held from 10:30 AM
and 12:00 Noon at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi through the following link: https://pmindiawebcast.nic.in/

Further, it is informed that the Central Government has decided to organize Veer Baal Diwas through a series of State-level and District-level programmes to ensure wide-scale participation. All institutions are to be involved, including but not limited to:

  • Pre-schools / Early Childhood Education Centres
  • Anganwadi Centres
  • Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools
  • Colleges and Universities
  • Sports Institutions
  • Child Care Institutions (CCIs)
  • Special Schools for Children with Disabilities
  • Children Homes, Observation Homes, Orphanages
  • Youth Clubs and Community Learning Centres

Proposed Activities

In this connection, the institutions are encouraged to organize a range of age-appropriate and participatory activities, including but not limited to painting, poster-making, creative writing, essay writing, quizzes, knowledge-based games, storytelling, book-reading sessions, debates, skits, role-plays, slogan-writing competitions, rallies, awareness walks, group discussions, peer-learning circles, and sports and fitness activities, with the objective of promoting awareness on the above-mentioned theme.

Institutions may also share inspirational stories of previous Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) awardees during assemblies or special sessions to motivate children and youth.
