SUMMER BREAK ACTIVITIES – GUIDELINES FOR TEACHERS

• Class teachers have to create Whats app groups with their class students.
• Ask them to maintain a notebook for summer activities and submit at the time of reopening.
• Keep in touch with the students and encourage them from time to time to monitor their activities.
• Gather students activities in the form of pics/videos/reports through Whats app group

• Music, Dance and Drama :

Select a music/dance/drama of their own culture or local tradition where a group of people (Peer/siblings/other family members) come together to develop the child’s aesthetic sense. Example: Folk or traditional songs/dance can be recorded from their area using some musical instruments involving their siblings, friends and family members.

Read the passage carefully and then answer the questions.

My next pet was a pigeon, the most revolting bird to look at, with his feathers pushing through the wrinkled scarlet skin, mixed with the horrible yellow down that covers baby pigeons and makes them look as though they have been peroxiding their hair. Because of his repulsive and obese appearance, we called him Quasimodo. Since he had an unorthodox upbringing, without parents to teach him, Quasimodo became convinced that he was not a bird at all, and refused to fly. He walked everywhere. He was always eager to join us in anything we did.

He would even try to come for walks with us. So you had to either carry him on your shoulder, which was risking an accident to your clothes, or else you let him walk behind. If you let him walk, then you had to slow down your own pace to suit his, for should you get too far ahead, you would hear the most frantic and imploring coos and turn around to find Quasimodo running desperately after you.

పిసినారి పుల్లయ్య

ఒక గ్రామంలో పుల్లయ్య అనే పిసినారి ఉండేవాడు. అతను తాతల కాలంనాటి పాతగుడిసెలో నివాసం ఉండేవాడు. అది ఎండకు ఏండి, వానకు తడిసి పూర్తిగా పాడైపోయినది. ఐనా పుల్లయ్య ఆ గుడిసెను బాగుచేయించలేదు, ఎందుకంటే డబ్బు ఖర్చు అవుతుంది అని భయం. కొద్ది రోజులకు వానా కాలం వచ్చింది. బాగా వానలు పడుతున్నాయి. వానలకు గుడిసె మొత్తం కురుస్తుంది. పుల్లయ్య ఒక మూలన తడుచుకుంటూ గజగజ వణుకుతూ నిలబడ్డాడు. పొరిగింటి వాడైన మల్లయ్య ఏదో పని మీద బయటకు వెళుతుండగా వర్షానికి తడిచి గజగజ వణుకుతున్న పుల్లయ్య కనిపించాడు. పుల్లయ్యతో “ఎందుకు ఇంత బాధ పడుతున్నావు , గుడిసెను బాగుచేయించుకోవచ్చు కదా” అన్నాడు మల్లయ్య. “మల్లయ్య! నేను అలాగే చేయించుకోవాలి అనుకుంటున్నాను, కానీ ఈ వానల్లో పని ఎలా జరుగుతుంది, ఎండాకాలంలో గుడిసెను బాగుచేయిస్తాను” అన్నాడు పుల్లయ్య. మల్లయ్య అక్కడి నుండి వెళ్లిపోయాడు. వానాకాలం పోయింది. కొన్ని రోజుల్లో ఎండా కాలం రానే వచ్చింది. ఊరిలోని వారందరూ ఎవరి పనులు వారు చేసుకుంటున్నారు. ఒకరోజు మల్లయ్య పొలానికి పుల్లయ్య గుడిసె ముందునుండి వెళుతుండగా వానా కాలంలో జరిగిన విషయం గుర్తుకువచ్చి “పుల్లయ్య! గుడిసెను ఎప్పుడు బాగుచేపిస్తున్నావు, ఎండా కాలం వచ్చింది కదా!” అన్నాడు. “మల్లయ్య! ఎండా కాలం ఇల్లు ఎలా ఉన్నాఒకటే నాకు, ఎందుకంటే పగలు పొలం పనుల్లో ఉంటాను, రాత్రికి వాకిట్లో పాడుకుంటాను. ఈ మాత్రం దానికి డబ్బులు వృధా చేయడం ఎందుకు” అన్నాడు పుల్లయ్య. పుల్లయ్య మాటలకు మల్లయ్య ఆశ్చర్యపోయి, వానాకాలం వానలు, ఎండాకాలం అవసరం లేదు అంటావు, నీ గుడిసె బాగైనట్టే అనుకుంటూ అక్కడి నుండి వెళ్ళాడు మల్లయ్య. మళ్ళీ వర్షాకాలం రానే వచ్చింది. ఈ సారి గాలితోకూడిన పెద్ద వర్షాలు వచ్చాయి. ఈ వానలకు పుల్లయ్య గుడిసె కూలిపోయింది. పుల్లయ్య గుడిసె కింద పడి చనిపోయాడు. పాపం పుల్లయ్య తిని తినక, కూడబెట్టిన సొమ్ము పరుల పాలైంది. అందుకే పెద్దలంటారు లోభికి అత్యాశ ఎక్కువ.

One day, two friends were walking through the forest. They knew the forest was a dangerous place and that anything could happen. So, they promised to remain close to each other in case of any danger.

All of a sudden, a big bear approached them. One of the friends quickly climbed a nearby tree, leaving the other friend behind.

The other friend did not know how to climb and instead used common sense. He laid down on the ground and remained there, breathless, pretending to be dead.

The bear approached the friend lying on the ground. The animal started to smell his ear before slowly wandering off again because bears never touch those who are dead.

Soon, the friend who hid in the tree came down. He asked his friend, “My dear friend, what secret did the bear whisper to you?” The friend replied, “The bear simply advised me never to believe a false friend.”

The Moral : A true friend will always support and stand by you in any situation.

జ: ఇదేం ప్రశ్న? సూర్యుడు రంగులు మార్చడం ఏమిటి? ఇది చాలామందికి ఎదురయ్యే సమస్య. ఎందుకంటే సూర్యోదయం, సూర్యాస్తమయం వేళల్లో ఆకాశం వైపు చూసినప్పుడు ఎర్రబారి ఎంతో ఆకర్షణీయంగా కనిపిస్తుంది. అదే మధ్యాహ్నం వేళ తెల్లగాను మిగతా సమయాలలో ఆకాశం నీలి రంగులో ఉంటుంది ఎందుచేత? ఇలా ఆకాశం రంగులు మారటానికి కారణం సూర్యుడు రంగులు మార్చటం కాదు. దీనికి కారణం సూర్యుని నుండి వెలువడే తెల్లని కాంతిలోని ఏడు రంగుల లో ఎరుపు రంగు ఎక్కువ తరంగదైర్ఘ్యం కలిగి తక్కువ వ్యాప్తి చెందుతుంది. సూర్యోదయం, సూర్యాస్తమయం వేళల్లో వాతావరణంలోని తేమ, దుమ్ము, దూళి వీటిపై తెల్లనికాంతి పడినప్పుడు ఆ దుమ్ము, ధూళి కణాలు ఎరుపు రంగుని తక్కువ ప్రక్షేపనం చెందించడం వలన ఆకాశం ఎర్రగా కనిపిస్తుంది. మధ్యాహ్నం వేళ లో గాలిలో నీటి ఆవిరి శాతం తక్కువగా ఉండి దుమ్ము ధూళి ఎక్కువగా ఉంటుంది. అందువలన ప్రక్షేపనం చెందిన కాంతులన్ని కలసి మరలా తెల్లని కాంతి ఏర్పడుతుంది. అందువలన ఆకాశం తెల్లగా ఉంటుంది. మిగిలిన సమయాలలో నీలిరంగు తక్కువ తరంగదైర్ఘ్యం కారణంగా ఎక్కువ ప్రక్షేపనం చెంది ఆకాశం నీలంగా కనిపిస్తుంది. అంతేకాని ఇలా ఆకాశం రంగులు మార్చడానికి సూర్యుడు రంగులు మార్చడానికి సంబంధం లేదు
