All the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers in the State are informed that every year, Constitution Day is observed on 26th November to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1949. This year we are celebrating 75 years of the adoption of the Indian Constitution. The day reaffirms belief in justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity — the core values enshrined in the Preamble. To instil these democratic values and political literacy among students, the Department of School Education conducted a series of competitions and planned to conduct an innovative State-level “Students’ Assembly” to provide firsthand experience in policy-making and parliamentary functioning.
In continuation of the above theme, all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and the District Educational Officers in the State are informed that the following instructions are issued for the celebration of Constitution Day on 26.11.2025:
- The importance of the Constitution Day should be explained to the students.
- The background and rationale of the Constitution Day should also be explained to the students.
- The students should be made to understand the importance of the contributions made by the freedom fighters and the leaders for the Constitution Day.
- The State Level Students Assembly Session on 26.11.2025 will be telecasted live from 9.00 AM to 12.30 PM, and the same should be watched by all the students and teachers in the school.
- The proper Internet connectivity shall be ensured in the school, and other facilities should be in place so as to enable the students watch the live session on IFPs on 26.11.2025.
The RJDSEs and DEOs are further informed that out of the three candidates shortlisted in the competitions, only one candidate was finally selected. Hence, there is a need to acknowledge the efforts of the students who participated. As such, the RJDSEs and DEOs are requested to organise an interactive session between students and their respective Collectors and District Magistrates to share words of encouragement. Present each such student with a Certificate of Participation and a medal issued by the District Administration. The District Educational Officers shall coordinate with the Headmasters and prepare the list of eligible students, and ensure the timely printing of certificates and distribution of medals.
Therefore, all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers in the State are requested to disseminate the above instructions to all the Headmasters under their jurisdiction and ensure that the above instructions are strictly adhered to. It should also be ensured that all the students watch the State Level Students Assembly session live on 26.11.2025 without fail.
