The attention of the District Educational Officers and Additional Project Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha, in the State are invited to the ref cited and i informed that in the ref cited the MoE, Gol has informed that Prerana is the experimental learning program which is one-kind inspirational program for students of class 9-12.

It is further informed that in the ref. Cited the Government of India has informed that for conducting of one-week Residential program for 20 students (10) girls and 10 boys) from 10 districts of different States/UTs at the Vernacular School. Vadnagar, Gujarat.

In this connection it is informed that the Government of India has expected to start the program from April 24. For this purpose the prerana portal will be re- opened from 15.03,3034 for registration of children’s,


Therefore the District Educational Officers and Additional Project. Coordinators of Samagra Shilsha, in the State are instructed to issue necessary instructions to the field functionaries to register in the Prerana Portal for classes th to 12th those who are active in all aspects.

About PRERNA of Class 9 to 12

The Prerana School allows students to experience and internalize these values through the latest technology and hands-on activities, through a one-week program. The classrooms are based on nine themes that provide unique avenues for joyful and meaningful learning through activity-based engagement.

  • 20 students are selected in every batch of PRERANA from 10 different districts.
  • Two students (one girl and one boy) and two as backup are selected from each district.
  • Students from class IX to XII (session 2024-25) will register through PRERANA Portal giving personal details, school details and special achievements.
  • Students will give details of District and Urban/ Rural (on Portal) based on Location of School.
  • Organisation of ‘Prerana Utsav’ in every school having classes IX to XII of every district
  • Screening of film on PRERANA program and orientation of ‘Prerna Utsav’ by schools during the organisation of ‘Prerna Utsav’
  • Talent display by students- Various activities like writing essay/poem/story/song on given topic, drawing etc. (One activity by each student)

PRERANA SELECTION PROCEDURE: 3 LEVELS

Registration of students through Prema Portal

Organisation of Prerana Utsav in every school of every district Motivating students to participate in ‘PRERANA UTSAV in schools Screening of film on PRERANA program and orientation of ‘Prema Utsav’ by schools during the organisation of ‘Prema Utsav’

Talent display by students Various activities like writing essay/poem/story/song on given topic, drawing etc. (One activity by each student)

First Level: 
Students selected on the basis of their talent, leadership. social responsibility and enthusiasm to shape the future of the nation – Selection of  02 best students 101 boy and 01 girl from each school in the district from class IX. XII.

Second level: Organisation of Prema Utsav at district level in JNV

Participation of students selected at school level in activities organised on topics like Why should I be selected for Prerana’, ‘My vision for India and Visit Bharat

Following the activities, selection of 30 students (15 boys and 15 girls)

based on their personality assessment and suitability for the program

Third level: Personal interview of selected 30 students an INV

2 participants (1 boy and 1 girl) and 2 backup participants (1 boy and 1girl are finally selected from each district


Selection Committee: Teachers of NVS, KVS and CBSE.

After organisation of school level PRERANA Utsav in district, DEO will send the signed list of all students selected for district level PRERANA Utsav to the JNV of district/district nodal school within 3 days

The Dates of District Level Prenta Utsav will be decided by NVS (preferably from 1st to 20th April 20241 on the basis of schedule of school level Prerana Utsav

NVS will communicate the schedule for district level PRERANA Uba to MoE and to DEOs of respective districts through JNVs/district nodal school. Smt. Kalpana imm Quality is nominated as Nodal officer for Prerana and Smt. Suhasini from SIEMAT shall co-ordinate with Kalpana to complete the task.

 The 9 themes will be spread across 8 classrooms. The themes are:

  1. Swabhiman and Vinay
  2. Shaurya and Sahas
  3. Parishram and Samarpan
  4. Karuna and Seva
  5. Vividhta and Ekta
  6. Satyanishtha and Shuchita
  7. Navachar and Jigyasa
  8. Shraddha and Vishwas
  9. Swatantrata and Kartavya

The participants will also visit archaeological and historical sites that make Vadnagar unique. As participants from various corners of the country converge here, the cultural exchange becomes an invaluable aspect of the experience helping the participants gain insights into the living traditions of other states that shape our nation.

In addition to excursions to archaeological and heritage sites, other diverse activities are also planned that will encompass various modes of learning all under the expert guidance of selected mentors ensuring a holistic learning journey. The students will also understand the growth and glory of the country from ancient Indian civilisation right up to transforming into one of the top 5 economies and landing of Chandrayan on Moon.

The methodology embraces a holistic approach to education, centred around joyful experiential learning. With a keen focus on well-defined learning objectives, the framework integrates and includes various activities like:

  1. Watching films
  2. Immersing in storytelling
  3. Participating, and learning about regional games
  4. Crafting working radio models
  5. Exposure to computer design skills
  6. Observing water samples
  7. Delving into cutting-edge technological advancements like 3D printing, drones
  8. Engaging field trips

Collaborative learning strategies, and advanced technologies, will ensure a dynamic and immersive educational experience. Community interaction is emphasized, creating real-world contexts for learning. Different mediums, including paintings, podcasts, blogs, 3-D printed models, and more, empower children to express their understanding in ways that resonate with their individual strengths.

Exposure to activities in this programme will instil in the youngsters a sense of citizenship and pride in their nation, as well as a spirit of enterprise and entrepreneurship. This will foster respect for India’s immense unity and diversity, as well as the ethos of “Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam.”
