SUMMER BREAK ACTIVITIES – GUIDELINES FOR TEACHERS

• Class teachers have to create Whats app groups with their class students.
• Ask them to maintain a notebook for summer activities and submit at the time of reopening.
• Keep in touch with the students and encourage them from time to time to monitor their activities.
• Gather students activities in the form of pics/videos/reports through Whats app group

• Music, Dance and Drama :

Select a music/dance/drama of their own culture or local tradition where a group of people (Peer/siblings/other family members) come together to develop the child’s aesthetic sense. Example: Folk or traditional songs/dance can be recorded from their area using some musical instruments involving their siblings, friends and family members.

అమ్మ మాట వినాలి..!

నందనం అనే అడవిలో ఒక ఎలుగుబంటి ఉండేది. దాని పేరు భల్లూకం. దానికి బంటి, చంటి అని రెండు పిల్లలు కూడా ఉండేవి. వాటితో కలిసి ఓ గుహలో నివసించేది. వేసవి ఎండ తీవ్రత వల్ల.. పిల్లలను గుహలోనే ఉంచి ఒక్కతే ఆహార సేకరణకు వెళ్లాలని నిర్ణయించుకుంది. ‘ఎండ చాలా ఎక్కువగా ఉంది. మీరు ఎటువంటి పరిస్థితుల్లో కూడా బయటకు రాకండి. గుహలోనే ఉండండి. నేను వెళ్లి ఆహారం తీసుకొస్తాను. ఏదైనా అవసరమైతే పక్కనే పొదలో ఉన్న కుందేలు మామను అడగండి. నేను దానికి చెప్పి వెళ్తాను. బయటకు మాత్రం వెళ్లకండి.. వడదెబ్బ తగిలితే చాలా ప్రమాదం’ అని పిల్లలకు జాగ్రత్తలు చెప్పి, వాటిని కాస్త గమనిస్తుండమని.. కుందేలుకు చెప్పి ఆహార సేకరణకు బయలుదేరింది ఎలుగుబంటి.

చంటి, బంటి చాలాసేపు గుహలోనే ఉన్నాయి. కాసేపటికి.. ‘చంటీ! అమ్మ ఆహారం కోసం వెళ్లింది కదా! వచ్చేటప్పటికి చాలా సమయం అవుతుంది. మనం అలా బయటకు వెళ్లి ఆడుకొని వద్దాం పద’ అంది బంటి. అప్పుడు చంటి.. ‘అమ్మ ఎండలో బయటకు వెళ్లొద్దని మరీ.. మరీ.. చెప్పింది. కాబట్టి మనం ఎక్కడికీ వెళ్లకుండా లోపలే ఉందాం’ అని బదులిచ్చింది. ‘అమ్మ అలాగే చెబుతుంది. నా మాట విను.. అలా కాసేపు బయట తిరిగి వద్దాం’ అంటూ చంటిని వెంటపెట్టుకొని బయలుదేరింది బంటి. అవి కుందేలు ఉన్న పొదను దాటి వెళ్తుంటే.. వాటిని చూసిన కుందేలు.. ‘అమ్మ బయటికి వెళ్లొద్దని చెప్పింది కదా! గుహలో ఉండకుండా, ఇంత ఎండలో ఎక్కడికి వెళ్తున్నారు? తిరిగి గుహలోకి వెళ్లండి’ అని గట్టిగా చెప్పింది. ‘నువ్వు మాకు చెప్పేదేంటి? అయినా మా అమ్మ వచ్చేలోపు మేం తిరిగొచ్చేస్తాం కదా!’ అంటూ అక్కడి నుంచి ముందుకు వెళ్లాయవి. కొంచెం దూరం వెళ్లాక ఓ చెట్టు నీడలో ఆగి ఎంచక్కా ఆడుకున్నాయి.

ఇంకాసేపటికి బంటి.. ‘మనం కొంచెం ముందుకు వెళ్దాం. అక్కడ మనకు మంచి పుట్టతేనె దొరుకుతుంది’ అంది. అప్పుడు చంటీ.. ‘అమ్మో! ఇంకా ముందుకు వెళ్లడమా.. వద్దు. నాకు ఎందుకో భయంగా ఉంది. మనం ఇంటికి వెళ్లిపోదాం పద!’ అంది. ‘నీకు ఎప్పుడూ భయమే. నేను ఉన్నా కదా! నీకేం కాదు’ అంటూ చంటిని తీసుకొని ఇంకా ముందుకు వెళ్లింది బంటి. అప్పటికే ఎండ తీవ్రత బాగా పెరిగింది. అటువైపుగా వస్తున్న ఒక ఏనుగు వీటిని ఆపి.. ఎక్కడికి వెళ్తున్నారు?’ అని అడిగింది. ‘మా అమ్మ ఇటువైపే వచ్చింది. అదిగో ఆ ముందు ఉంది. అక్కడికే వెళ్తున్నాం’ అని అబద్ధం చెప్పేసింది బంటి. ఇక మళ్లీ అక్కడి నుంచి ముందుకు నడవటం ప్రారంభించాయవి. కాస్త ముందుకు వెళ్లేటప్పటికి ఎండ వల్ల బంటి అక్కడే కూలబడిపోయింది. దాన్ని చూసి.. చంటికి చాలా భయం వేసింది. ఏం చేయాలో అర్థం కాలేదు. ‘బంటి.. బంటి..’ అంటూ కేకలు వేసింది. ఇంతలోనే అక్కడికి కుందేలు వచ్చింది. దానితో చంటి.. ‘మామా! బంటిని రక్షించు’ అని ప్రాధేయపడింది. కుందేలు వెంటనే ఆ సమీపంలో ఉన్న కొలను దగ్గరకు వెళ్లి, నీరు తెచ్చి బంటిపై చల్లింది. తేరుకున్నాక ఒక చెట్టు నీడలోకి తీసుకెళ్లింది. కాస్త విశ్రాంతి తీసుకున్నాక బంటి పూర్తిగా తేరుకుంది.

అప్పుడు బంటి.. ‘మా అమ్మ, నువ్వు ఇంటిపట్టునే ఉండమని పదేపదే చెప్పారు. అయినా వినకుండా బయటకు వచ్చాము. ఎండలో ఇంత ఇబ్బంది పడ్డాము. మీరు చెప్పినట్లు విని అక్కడే ఆగిపోతే ఇదంతా జరిగేది కాదు. నన్ను క్షమించండి’ అని నెమ్మదిగా అంది బంటి. ‘ఎప్పుడైనా పెద్దలు.. పిల్లల మంచి కోరే చెబుతారు. అందుకే వాళ్లు చెప్పిన మాట వినాలి. ఎండ తీవ్రత అధికంగా ఉన్నప్పుడు బయట తిరగకూడదు’ అంది కుందేలు. ఆహార సేకరణ చేసుకొని అదే దారి గుండా వస్తున్న భల్లూకం, చెట్టు నీడలో ఉన్న దాని పిల్లలను చూసి కంగారు పడింది. వెంటనే వాటి దగ్గరకు వెళ్లింది. దానికి కుందేలు విషయమంతా వివరించింది. భల్లూకం పిల్లలను దగ్గరకు తీసుకొని కుందేలుకు కృతజ్ఞతలు చెప్పింది. తెచ్చిన ఆహారం పిల్లలకు అందించింది.

 

WE LOVE READING SUMMER ACTIVITIES 2024- TODAY ENGLISH  MORAL STORY : The Musical Donkey

Once there lived a washerman and his donkey in a village. During the day, the donkey would carry the washerman’s bags. During the night the washerman would set him free in the field to eat grass. However, the donkey would sneak into nearby farms and eat the fresh vegetables there.

One day, while wandering thus, he met a jackal. They became friends and the donkey invited the jackal to join him on his rendezvous at night. They started meeting every night. By day break, the donkey would be back home.

This went on for many days. One day the jackal said, “Uncle, I have discovered a new field with ripe, juicy cucumbers not very far off. It is nothing less than a feast for you. I am sure I will also find some small animals for myself in that field. Let’s go there tonight.”

So both of them went to feast on the cucumbers. The donkey feasted to his full, and said, “Nephew. I m so happy today. Look at the full moon. It is so beautiful that it makes me want to sing.”

The jackal said, “Uncle, we are stealing from this field. We cannot make ourselves heard. If you sing, the farmers will wake up and we will be caught. It is better to eat and forget about singing!”

The donkey was annoyed. “A wild animal like you cannot appreciate music. I will show you what real music sounds like.”

The jackal saw that the donkey was determined to sing. So he said, “Uncle, if you want to sing, please wait till I go out of the field so that I can keep an eye on the farmers.” Saying this the jackal ran out and hid himself.

The donkey lifted his face to the moon and started braying at the top of his voice. The farmers woke up and in the light of the full moon, could clearly see him standing in the field. They chased him with sticks and stones and beat him black and blue.

As the donkey limped out of the field, the jackal came out of his hiding place and laughed. “Uncle, that was very nice singing. I see that the farmers have rewarded you well!”

Moral: There is a time and place for everything.
