సబ్జెక్టులు – అవగాహన ప్రిలిమినరీ, మెయిన్స్ పరీక్షలో మొత్తం ఏడు సబ్జెక్టులు ఉన్నప్పటికీ ప్రిలిమినరీలోని సబ్జెక్టులు మెయిన్స్ పరీక్షలో ఉన్న సబ్జెక్టుల్లో అంతర్భాగంగానే ఉన్నాయి. మొత్తంగా చూస్తే 5 విభిన్న సబ్జెక్టులున్నాయి.
క్వాంటిటేటివ్ ఆప్టిట్యూడ్/ డేటా ఇంటర్ప్రిటేషన్ ప్రిలిమినరీ పరీక్షలో సాధారణంగా అరిథ్మెటిక్ ప్రశ్నలు, సింప్లిఫికేషన్స్, నంబర్ సిరీస్, అప్రాక్సిమేట్ వేల్యూస్, క్వాడ్రాటిక్ ఈక్వేషన్స్, డేటా సఫిషియన్సీ, డేటా ఇంటర్ప్రిటేషన్, పర్ముటేషన్ అండ్ కాంబినేషన్స్, ప్రాబబిలిటీ మొదలైనవాటి నుంచి ప్రశ్నలుంటాయి. మెయిన్స్ పరీక్షలో ఎక్కువగా డేటా ఇంటర్ప్రిటేషన్ ప్రశ్నలుంటాయి. టేబుల్స్, లైన్గ్రాఫ్స్, బార్ డయాగ్రాం, ఫైచార్ట్లు మొదలైనవాటి నుంచి ప్రశ్నలుంటాయి. ఒకటి కంటే ఎక్కవ గ్రాఫ్లు ఇవ్వడం ద్వారా ప్రశ్నలు ఉంటాయి. ప్రశ్నలు చాలా హెచ్చుస్థాయిలో అడిగే అవకాశం ఉంటుంది. కాబట్టి దానికి తగిన సాధన అవసరం.
రీజనింగ్ ప్రిలిమినరీ, మెయిన్స్ పరీక్షలు రెండింటిలోనూ ఉన్న విభాగమిది. ప్రశ్నలు హెచ్చుస్థాయిలో ఉంటాయి. ఎక్కువ సమయం పట్టే సీటింగ్ అరేంజ్మెంట్ నుంచి ప్రశ్నలు ఎక్కువ. దీంతోపాటు, కోడింగ్-డీకోడింగ్, సిలాజిజమ్స్, ఆల్పబెట్ సీక్వెన్సెస్, బ్లడ్ రిలేషన్స్, స్టేట్మెంట్స్, పజిల్ టెస్ట్, ఎలిజిబిలిటి టెస్ట్, ఇన్పుట్-అవుట్పుట్ మొదలైనవి బాగా నేర్చుకోవాలి. త్వరగా సాధించగలిగేలా సాధన చేయాలి. మెయిన్స్ పరీక్షలో ఈ విభాగంలో కలిపే కంప్యూటర్ ఆప్టిట్యూడ్ ఉంది. దాని నుంచి 5-10 ప్రశ్నలు వచ్చే అవకాశం ఉంది. దానిలో ఫ్లోఛార్ట్ సంబంధమైనవి బాగా చూసుకోవాలి.
జనరల్/బ్యాంకింగ్/ఎకానమీ ఎవేర్నెస్ దీనిలో బ్యాంకింగ్, ఆర్థిక రంగాల తాజా పరిణామాలపై ఎక్కువ ప్రశ్నలుంటాయి. అంతర్జాతీయ, దేశీయ ఆర్థిక సంస్థలపై దృష్టి సారించాలి. కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ పథకాలు, భారతదేశ ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థ, బ్యాంకింగ్ వ్యవస్థ, ఆర్బీఐ, స్టాక్ మార్కెట్, ప్రాముఖ్యమున్న విషయాలు తెలుసుకోవాలి. విషయం పట్ల కుణ్ణమైన అవగాహన ఉంటే దానిపై ఎలాంటి ప్రశ్న అడిగినా సమాధానం చెప్పగలిగే అవకాశం ఉంటుంది. సరిగా చదివితే ఎక్కవ మార్కులు తెచ్చుకోగలిగే విభాగమిది.
ఇంగ్ల్లిష్ లాంగ్వేజ్ ఇది ఈ పరీక్షలో చాలా ముఖ్యమైన విభాగం. ప్రిలిమినరీ పరీక్షతో పాటు మెయిన్స్ పరీక్షలోని ఆబ్జెక్టివ్, డిస్క్రిప్టివ్ రెండింటిలోనూ ఈ విభాగం ఉంది. ఎక్కువమంది అభ్యర్థులు విఫలమయ్యే విభాగం కూడా. కాబట్టి జాగ్రత్తగా సిద్ధమవ్వాలి. గ్రామర్ సంబంధమైన ప్రశ్నలు 40% దాకా ఉంటాయి. దానితో పాటుగా రీడింగ్ కాంప్రహెన్షన్, వొకాబులరీల నుంచి ప్రశ్నలుంటాయి. డిస్క్రిప్టివ్ టెస్ట్లో లెటర్ రైటింగ్, ఎస్సే రైటింగ్లుంటాయి. ఏదైనా ఒక విషయంపై 150-200 పదాల వరకు విస్తరిస్తూ ఎస్సే రాయగలిగేలా అభ్యాసం చేయాలి. వివిధ రకాల లెటర్స్ రాయడం కూడా సాధన చేయాలి. గ్రామర్పై పట్టుంటే ఈ విభాగం తేలికే.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The selection for Probationary Officers will be done through a three tiered process:
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination: Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online.
The test will have of 3 Sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:
1. English Language 30 Total Maximum Marks 100 20 minutes
2. Quantitative Aptitude 35 20 minutes
3. Reasoning Ability 35 20 minutes
Total 100 1 hour
Selection criteria for Main Examination: Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Preliminary Exam. There will be no sectional cut-off.
Candidates numbering 10 times the numbers of vacancies (approx.) in each category will be short listed for Main Examination from the top of above merit list.
Phase-II: Main Examination: Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks.
Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer the Descriptive Test by typing on the computer. The Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after completion of the Objective Test.
(i) Objective Test: The objective test of 3 hours duration consists of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test will have separate timing for every section.
